As a general committee member, he is assisting the race as a relative newcomer to the sport of sled dog racing, Peter can still remember the sense of fear and overwhelming excitement that came with competing in his first race. With this memory still fresh in his mind, Peter enjoys sharing his passion for the sport with dog owners who wonder what it would be like to race with a dog.
As a qualified trainer, he enjoys being able to lead newcomers on their journey into competing in sled dog racing. Whether it be during a 2 hour intro to the sport or a weekend activity, he is never short of advice. If he doesn’t know the answer, he’s keen to find it with you.
Peters background is in event management organisers to assess aspects of the race including costs, facilities, safety and attendee satisfaction.
He is known for his enthusiastic approach to camping and sharing his camp fire culinary skills. Often the last to go to bed, he enjoys the social side of the sport more than focussing on winning. For him, being out with his dogs and family is a winner.
He currently races with the family pets, Siberian Huskies Mia and Blaize. Both dogs were adopted thru rescue organisations and taught how to race. This experience sees Peter as a strong supporter of educating potential dog owners and promoting rescue groups. He looks forward to meeting you.
